Marigold Days is one big reason we chose to drive out to Minnesota the weekend after labor day. Quiet Mantorville fills up with flea market vendors, classic cars, music and more. No photos yet (need to get them offloaded still) Some highlights:
- The Riverside Park fills with hundreds of flea market vendors. Here's where you can buy things that are old, but not quite yet antiques. Collectible RC cola cans, older furniture, minnow buckets, beanie babies, old books, etc. You can also buy newer things like home-made wooden toys, scented candles, and well, socks. (Apparently people wait all year to buy socks from "The Sock Man" stand.)
- Food Food Food. VFW Pancake breakfast, mini donuts, burgers, brats, pickle on a stick, and much more.
- Pop -- I always forget that in Minnesota carbonated soft drinks are referred to as Pop.
- We didn't go to the Fireman's Dance, but we could hear the band when we walked the dog that evening. Heard two songs, one was Lick it Up by Kiss, the other some Poison song.
